The Shop ‘n Save Express Stores in Belington and Philippi are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month in July. Chris Phillips, left, is the President of the Shop ‘n Stores. Scott Skidmore, at right, is the Store Manager of the Philippi store.
The Shop ‘n Save Express Stores are proud to be “hometown super markets” where regulars are greeted by name, says Phillips. The Belington location was opened in 1983 and since then has grown to fourteen stores across Northern West Virginia, he said. The stores “are big enough to carry a wide variety of great food products, but small enough to provide the small-town service which has kept us growing for over 35 years.”
“Shop ‘n Save Express produce trucks arrive with new stock four days a week,” Phillips said. “The Deli Department has a wide variety of cold cuts, cheese, and salad items. The Bakery Department features our famous pepperoni rolls, a selection of baked goods, and custom-made-to-order cakes, while, unlike the big box stores which sell pre-cut packaged meats, our Meat Department still cuts fresh meat every day. One of our customer favorites is our daily “Pick 5” program, where shoppers choose five meat items for $ 19.99. Every year,” he added, “we hold a Customer Appreciation Steak Fry when the management team serves steak dinners to our customers for only $ 6.00.”
“Family-owned Shop ‘n Save Express Stores carry name brands at a competitive price,” Philippi Manager Scott Skidmore said. “We are open seven days a week, and offer in-store specials and honor customers’ special requests in addition to our weekly ads”.
