Eric Ruf, left, President of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, presented the 2015 Corporate Citizen of the Year Award to BC Bank President and CEO Jeff Goff during the recent Chamber banquet meeting at Alderson Broaddus University.

“In the fifteen-year history of the current awards program,” said Ruf, “no other candidate has received more nominations than BC Bank for its $ 1.75 million contribution to the new field and track at Philip Barbour High School.”

One of the Chamber’s nominators said, “The BC Bank’s Board of Directors faith in a BC Bank Park at Philip Barbour – and their willingness to invest so heavily in moving the project forward – is unprecedented in community banking in West Virginia and in the United States.  The bank board made history.  Their desire to give back to the community speaks volumes about the character of the bank and its commitment to the community.”

“The sizeable contribution the bank made to the Barbour County schools complex,” said Ruf, “will be a spring-board for future county-wide growth and expansion.  Nominated and selected by the Chamber membership, BC Bank is presented this award for the significant role it played in 2015 in furthering the good of Barbour County.”
