Jeff Goff, standing, CEO and President of BC Bank, served as moderator for the recent Career Day at Philip Barbour High School.  Co-Chair of the event was Melody Jones, CPA.

Goff is the Vice President and Jones the Treasurer of the sponsoring Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, assisted by Mr. Gerald Furby, teacher and adviser to the Future Business Leaders of America club at the school.  Reg Trefethen from the Barbour County Development Authority offered the Invocation, while a welcoming message was brought by Barbour County Superintendent of Schools, Jeff Woofter.

Thirty one representatives from twenty Barbour County businesses and organizations sponsored a like number of students and faculty during the luncheon meeting prepared and served by Mrs. Shannon’s cooking class.  Students rotated among seated representatives according to their career interests.  Addressing students’ career questions were representatives from AES Laurel Mountain Windmills, Allegheny Insurance, Alderson Broaddus University, BC Bank, the Barbour County Board of Education, Barbour County Chamber, Barbour County Development Authority, Belington Clinic, Broaddus Hospital, Cvechko Insurance, Freedom Bank, Good Samaritan Society, Hill-Johnson Law, Melody Jones, CPA, Mace’s Pharmacies, Mullens & Mullens Attorneys, Prosecutor Leckta Poling, Premier Bank, and Wedgewood Farm.
