Attorney Hunter Mullens, above, will moderate this year’s Career Day at the Philip Barbour Vocational School on Thursday, April 20th.
A hot luncheon prepared and served by Mrs. Shannon’s cooking class will be served at 11:30 and the program begin at noon.
This year’s Career Day will see 25 members of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce host 25 Philip Barbour students at tables arranged to provide students an opportunity to get acquainted with the nature and requirements of specific fields of employment.
Following several round-table discussions, a panel of business leaders from the Chamber will answer questions from the floor. Mullens, from Mullens & Mullens Attorneys, will represent the Legal Profession, joined by Ryan Curry, President of BC Bank in Banking & Finance, and Pat Jones, Manager of Delta Cooling Towers, in Manufacturing.
Mike Cvechko from Cvechko Insurance will speak for the Insurance Industry and Ron Philipps, Manager of Builders Center, will answer for Retailing. Joe Kaiser of Kaiser’s Coffee will represent the Food Industry, and Susie Cvechko, recently retired as Director of Inpatient Services from Broaddus Hospital, the Health Fields.
Hunter Mullens was assisted in planning by Mr. Gerald Furby, the adviser to the Future Business Leaders of America Club, which is co-sponsoring the event. Chamber members are asked to register with the Chamber Office by April 12th, and to make checks payable to FBLA which will benefit from all proceeds.
Participants are reminded that check-in and parking is at the Barbour County Vocational School and not at the county high school’s main office.
