The Hot Dog Hut in Philippi and the Belington Laundry are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month in April. Kelsey Keene, left, is the “Hot Dog Technician” at the Hot Dog Hut. Allan Feldman is the owner of the Belington Laundry.
The Hot Dog Hut was opened in 2008 at the intersection of U. S. Route 119 and the Philippi bypass and has been rated 5 out of 5 by “West Virginia Hot Dogs” for their West Virginia Dog consisting of mustard, chili, coleslaw, onions, and, of course, hot dogs.
The Hot Dog Hut is proud of its house-made chili, coleslaw, and dressings, and offers sauerkraut and the only hard-to-find foot-long hot dog in the area. The dine-in or take-out restaurant may be reached at Post Office Box 266 in Philippi, or by calling 457-3200, and also offers popular West Virginia Lottery products.
The Belington Laundry is a 24-hour self-service coin laundry with a new wash/dry/fold/pick-up option. “The laundry is a clean, safe place to do your laundry”, Feldman says. “We charge only $ 1.50 for a 10-pound minimum to wash/dry/fold or $ 1.75 per pound for same-day service.
A 30-pound minimum costs only $ 1.75 per pound. This is a great service for pipe layers, frackers and the construction trade”, he says. The Belington Laundry is located at 307 South Crim Avenue adjacent to the Freedom Bank.
Feldman started with his first laundry in Grafton and also owns a laundry business in Morgantown. He started in the retail business during his 7th Grade in school helping in his father’s furniture store in Philadelphia, and attended Philadelphia Community College where he majored in computer science. He is a member of the Toastmasters Club.
