Al Schopp, the Chief Administrative Officer, Regional Vice President, and Treasurer of Antero Resources will meet with members of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce and their guests at the Medallion Restaurant in Philippi on Thursday, October 4. The public is invited.
Schopp will discuss the current and future status of the oil and gas industry in the county. He is eminently qualified as the Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer for the company in West Virginia and Ohio. The corporate offices for Antero are located in Denver, Colorado.
Schopp has been associated with Antero since 2003, and was previously CFO of T-Netix, a telecommunications company. He also spent 13 years as a Senior Manager of KPMG, LLP. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Drake University in Iowa.
Antero is an exploration and production company focused on acquiring leases to develop land, drill wells, and produce gas liquids, he says. “My responsibility is making sure we’re doing the right thing out here, and we’re doing the right things in the community, doing it safely, and treating the environment right,” says Schopp, who grew up on a small farm in Illinois.
Those attending will be able to order from the menu or visit the hot lunch bar starting at 11:30 a.m. The program will begin promptly at noon. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. The meeting will be held in the private Gold Room of the Medallion. Reservations need to be made with the Chamber and not with the restaurant.
