Broaddus Hospital was nominated and elected the 2019 Corporate Citizen of the Year by the members of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce.
The award goes each year to the business member of the Chamber who played the most significant role in furthering the good of the county.
Dr. Tim Barry, left, President of the Barbour Chamber, presented the Corporate Citizen Award in the form of an engraved crystal obelisk to Dana Gould, the Chief Executive Officer of the Broaddus Hospital Association.
The nomination for the award read: “The staff and management of Broaddus Hospital go beyond the call of duty each and every day. They not only provide a vast amount of critical medical services, but have multiple programs to promote good health among the citizens of Barbour County.”
Gould stressed that Broaddus Hospital is staffed by many local residents and offers a home atmosphere to those whom they serve. Broaddus, she says, provides multiple services 24 hours each day 7 days a week, including an emergency department, inpatient skilled nursing, outpatient services, laboratories and X-Rays, rehabilitation services, family practice, and an in-house nursing facility called Mansfield Place.
Broaddus Hospital is part of the Davis Health Care system and is located at 1 Healthcare Drive in Philippi, telephone (304) 457-1760.
