The Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County and Country Blooms Florists and Gifts are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month in January.

Country Blooms - at 15987 Barbour County Highway in Philippi - is a full-service florist specializing in unique items and one-of-a-kind custom fresh, silk, or dried floral arrangements.  The florist has a wide variety of fresh and artificial flowers for custom arrangements, live house plants, outdoor plants, primitives, balloons, farmhouse gift items, sympathy items, and gift baskets.  Country Blooms has “new ideas for wedding planning and traditional or custom funeral arrangements, offering in-store shopping and pick-up and delivery to surrounding counties,” Hall says.  “We have been in business for over ten years.” 

Hall graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School and was certified in 2010.  She is currently enrolled in a degree program at the American Institute of Floral Design.  She has worked in local greenhouses, landscaping, and has grown heirloom vegetables for local restaurants.  She is a member of the Philippi Economic Development Authority, Philippi Main Street Board of Directors, and is Future Farmers of America Alumni Vice President in Upshur County. 

The Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County is a skilled nursing facility offering post-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, hospice, and outpatient therapy.  They specialize in orthopedic rehabilitation, stroke recovery, wound care, pain management, post-cardiac recovery, IV therapy, physical strengthening, and falls and balance training.

A native of Point Pleasant, Wagoner has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and was employed by the Elkins Mountain School before joining Good Samaritan as a Social Worker in 1992.  She was named Administrator of the Year in 2019 by the West Virginia Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professionals.
