Valerie Hurst, President of Freedom Bank with headquarters in Belington, received the Directors Special Award from Chamber President Hunter Mullens during the recent Annual Banquet Meeting of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce.

The award, in the form of an engraved Alderwood plaque, was for her innovative service to the community.

Mullens said, “ Valerie created a team of people committed to welcoming families.  She is an  innovative banker, has the ability to evaluate risk, and meets customer needs.  She may be soft-spoken, but she is very knowledgeable about the needs of her community, her customer base, and what is going on today in the banking industry.  She continues to make a valuable contribution to our well-being.”
