
The Philippi Police Department Law Enforcement Task Force met for its annual meeting recently at the Medallion Restaurant. Promotions were announced.

Chief Walters expressed thanks for the voluntary service of the Task Force and discussed its 22-year history.
Special thanks were expressed for founding members Smith and Spotloe and to Barbara Bryan who has supported the work of the Task Force since her membership on the city’s council. The Task Force is represented at all of Philippi’s parades, various city activities, the Blue & Gray Reunion, and the Barbour County Fair.
The Philippi Law Enforcement Task Force meets monthly and for special training obtained from the city’s Chief of Police. Additional volunteers are invited. The Quartermaster provides full uniforms following a written application and background check by the Philippi Police Department.
