Microblading, a tattooing technique and form of permanent makeup, is now open for business in Barbour County, according to Microblading artist Adriana Knight, who completed her training with Felicity Matos at Browlicity in Morgantown.

The new service, called Beauty in the Blade, is open by appointment Tuesdays through Fridays at 170 North Walnut Street in Philippi, and is located in the Image Maker Salon.

Knight explained that the procedure can take up to three hours to complete and that the customer is numb and experiences little or no pain.  “As far as I know,” she says, “I am the only Microblading artist in Barbour County and have amazingly-low prices as well.”  The new service is on Facebook under Beauty in the Blade LLC and their email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. A large crowd of Philippi well-wishers attended the opening on January 10th, including Tammy Stemple,  Adriana Pancake with scissors front and center, Amber Higgins, aunt Michelle Fumich, Beth Marsh, Susie Cvechko, Ed Larry, Shana Frey, Mayor Phil Bowers, Clint Newman, and Drew Ciccarelli.
