The golf team of Bill Bowers, Chris Bowers, Amos Jackson and Harold Barner were the winners of the Annual Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament at the Barbour Country Club on Friday, September 8th

The runners-up from Leer South in Philippi included Joe Wickline, Zach Leggett, Josh Carr and Mike Delauder (who was also Closet to the Pin).  The Longest Drive was by Harold Burner from the Bowers team, while Ed Gall from the Community Health Association had the Longest Putt.

Complimentary lunches were provided by Broaddus Hospital, while Cvechko Insurance paid for the Hole-in-One Insurance, which was again not awarded.  The Community Health Association delivered cold beverages and again provided Hole-in-One witnesses Connie Williams and Melissa Foy,  while State Farm in Philippi, Cvechko Insurance, Snyder Industries, and the Barbour Country Club contributed door prizes. Mike Cvechko served as Master of Ceremonies.  Golf course certificates presented at the tournament came from the Elks Country Club in Elkins, WISP in Maryland, Canaan Valley, Stonewall Resort, Highlands in Franklin, and the Barbour Country Club. Proceeds from 15 hole sponsors, team contributions, mulligans, and a 50/50 drawing went to Philip Barbour High School. 

Sponsors included the Dr. Terry Jones family, Dave’s Plumbing & Heating, Freedom Bank, Bialek Insurance, Snyder Industries, the Barbour County Development Authority, Kaiser’s Coffee & Candy, Mullens & Mullens Attorneys, Leer South, Cvechko Insurance, the Community Health Association, Mace’s Pharmacies, Alderson Broaddus University, and Shannon Reed from State Farm in Philippi.  The 50/50 drawing was won by Chris Bowers.
